Noticing small kindnesses without hiding honest feelings.
A moment to reflect
A gratitude note does not have to begin with a good day. Sometimes there is only one small thing: someone holds a door, rain pauses for a moment or a message arrives at the right time.
In this reflection on faith, gratitude is not a way to erase sadness. We can be thankful for help while acknowledging that a situation remains difficult. Both truths can live on the same page.
Tonight, try writing two sentences: one about something heavy, and one about a kindness you noticed. There is no need to force a cheerful ending. Honesty gives us room to see the day more fully.
